Texting xmas, er… Christmas

Okay, so this is my first holiday season as a twitterer… And I’m curious. Is is acceptable to use xmas in text and twitter when you refer to Christmas?

Does the “Keep Christ in Christmas” bumper sticker apply to twitter and text messaging?
